Managing Risk Matters

You can use insurance to manage risk. Do you have enough, or do you risk being underinsured?

There are plenty of financial concerns millennials are trying to balance. Making sure you have an adequate amount of insurance can help you eliminate unnecessary risks and properly take stock of your vehicle, housing, and health.

Do you own your own car? If the answer is yes, then you'll want to make sure you have enough coverage to protect you in the event of an accident or theft. Liability insurance is the maximum amount your insurance company will pay in the event you're at fault in a car accident and get sued. Underinsured motorist coverage will cover your expenses if you are injured by a motorist with little or no insurance.

Are you a renter or a homeowner? Either way, liability insurance matters. The right coverage limit protects you and your possessions in the event of a loss. Protect your assets with the appropriate homeowners or renters insurance.

Do you have health insurance? If you don't have it, you need to get it or face tax penalties - it is still a requirement in 2018. If your employer doesn't offer healthcare, get the best plan you can afford on your own. Unexpected medical bills can be expensive and can lead to financial devastation. Don't leave yourself vulnerable.

Is your income protected? Long-term and short-term disability insurance will protect your income if you're sidelined by an illness or injury. It provides you with a portion of your income when you're unable to work. Check with your employer, professional associations, or your personal insurance agent for options.

Insurance is about protecting your future. Adequate insurance coverage is vital to financial stability. Call or email me, and we can make sure you're on track with your financial goals.
