 Michael Fansler Receives 2017 Volunteer of Year Award 

from the Mountain West Credit Union Association

Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 20, 2017) – Aventa Credit Union is pleased to announce that Michael Fansler, Chairman of Aventa’s Board of Directors, received the 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award from the Mountain West Credit Union Association (MWCUA) on April 13, 2017 during its Annual Meeting and Convention. The Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a credit union volunteer from Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming who selflessly contributes their time, effort and talent to the development of their community, their credit union and the credit union movement. 

Mr. Fansler has served the credit union movement for more than fifty-one years, beginning in 1966 when he became a member of the Supervisory Committee and later joined the board of directors. He has spent 19 of the last 21 years as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Fansler has also served on the board of directors for the Colorado State League as well as the audit committee. Locally he had a strong influence on the former Pikes Peak Chapter of Credit Unions and various other credit union related organizations. Other credit union service includes serving in an advisory capacity for SunCorp Corporate Credit Union.
